Van Hise Elementary
Van Hise is a quiet K-5 neighborhood school in the University Hill Farms area on the near west side of Madison. The diversity of our community is one of our greatest assets.
Welcome to Van Hise Elementary
An inclusive school community.
At our school, we work from a child-centered philosophy to build positive learning experiences, relationships, and engagement for all of our students. We have long standing traditions that include high-quality academic programs paired with a strong sense of community among families, staff, and students. We are proud of how our families and staff work together for our children’s learning. Our culture is friendly and promotes positive relationships among both children and adults. Our students and families are engaged, happy and surrounded by excellent, caring educators. Our ultimate goal is to educate our children to become positive, contributing members of our global society.
