Students and teachers. We’re always here for them.

Our focus has a fine point on it. We’re here to serve and support Madison’s public schools, delivering additional resources, funding and volunteers dedicated to ensuring all students have access to high-quality educational experiences.

The MMSD Community

More than 25,000 students and 52 schools. Our district is a deeply rooted and diverse community.

Our reach is broad. Madison Metropolitan School District, the second largest in Wisconsin, covers roughly 74 square miles, including the cities of Madison and Fitchburg, the villages of Maple Bluff and Shorewood Hills, and the towns of Blooming Grove, Burke and Madison. Committed to ensuring every school thrives, MMSD works to prepare each student to graduate high school ready for college, career and the community.
