Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

Your privacy is critically important to us. At Madison Public Schools Foundation (MPSF), we follow a few basic principles:

  • We don’t ask for personal information unless we truly need it.
  • We don’t sell, rent or trade donor or contact lists, and we don’t share personal information except as described below.

By using our website, you agree to this privacy policy.

Website visitors

Our website and its analytics and advertising tools collect information about your device and visits, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring site, and the date and time of each visit. We use it to understand how visitors use our website and to improve our outreach.

Information you give us

Some visits require personal information. For example, when you make an online donation, register for an event or sign up for our newsletter, we ask for what is needed to complete that step, such as your name, contact information and gift details. You can always decline to provide personal information, though it may keep you from completing some activities on our website.

Payment information

When you make a donation or register for an event, card details are sent directly to our payment processor, Blackbaud. We do not keep your card number. We keep a record of your gifts and contact information.

When you contact us

When you fill out a form or contact us by email or phone, we keep your name and contact information, what you told us, and how we responded, so we can continue the conversation.

How we share information

We share personal information only with our staff, board members and volunteers who help with our work, the schools you support, and software or service providers who need it to do work on our behalf (such as payment processing, email and mailing). We also disclose it when required by law, such as in response to a subpoena or court order. We do not sell, rent or trade donor or contact lists.

AI tools

Like many organizations, our staff use AI tools to support some everyday work. These tools are covered by the same commitments in this policy: we share personal information only as described above, and we don’t sell, rent or trade donor or contact lists. We never put payment card information into AI tools.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website uses cookies to understand how people use it. We use Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) pixel, and we may share information about your use of our site with these analytics and advertising partners, who handle it under their own privacy policies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work without them.

Email

Our newsletters and email updates include an unsubscribe link. To stop all email from us, just contact us.

Mail

To stop receiving printed mail from us, such as appeals and newsletters, just contact us.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we may send you updates, reminders and requests for support. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. Agreeing to receive texts is never required to give or take part. Mobile numbers and text-message consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Donor recognition

We may thank donors by name in our annual report, event materials or on our website. If you’d rather give anonymously, tell us when you give or anytime after, and we’ll leave your name out of public recognition.

Your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. We’ll make reasonable efforts to do so, except for records we need for legal, tax or audit purposes, such as gift receipts.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information. No security measures are perfect, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.

Children’s privacy

Our website is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version.
