Advocating on behalf of our public schools

Advocacy is a key component of our vision to serve as the go-to partner to the Madison Metropolitan School District.
Three simple ways to advocate for public schools are:

  1. Vote – Every election, every issue.
  2. Read up on local and state issues that affect schools
  3. Visit our Advocacy page and toolkit

Strong public schools make a strong Madison. Whether or not you have kids in our public schools, we all share a stake in the strength of our schools. Check our Advocacy page frequently for tips and latest news.

Your Support At Work!

The Foundation manages dedicated endowment funds for each one of our 50 public schools! This past year, staff at Falk Elementary School used a grant from their School Endowment to refresh Spanish-language text available in the school library, choosing high-quality translations and engaging topics, all to help grow literacy skills and increase reading time. Without a school endowment, this upgrade may not have been possible this year. Without engaged donors like YOU, our school endowment funds would not be the robust resources for schools that they are today. Thank you!

Help Schools Make Madison with a gift today!
Please, consider a gift to the Foundation today, to the school endowment or special fund of your choice, or to support our operations.  To see what we accomplished with community investment last year, take a look at our Annual Report. Thank you!
