Wright Middle School Endowment Fund
The income from the school endowment fund provides Wright Middle School the opportunity for school-based grants to support creative and innovative projects in our school.
Previously funded projects include:
- Make a Difference Day, during which Wright scholars go out into the community, giving back in ways that advocate for others as well as themselves.
- Mindfulness Through Music, which teaches meditation and mindfulness to students through hip-hop music and practices with an artist in residence, JusTme. JusTme teaches students how to deal with stress and anxiety through paying attention to their inside world in order to navigate the outside world. The program teaches mindfulness through hip-hop music, a genre which reaches many middle school youth. JusTme creates music with a positive spin on hip-hop culture and education. The program covered a two-week period and included an evening performance.
