Transition Education Program Fund
MMSD’s Transition Education Services Program (TEP) serves students and their families who are experiencing homelessness as defined by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act:
Children and youths who are:
- experiencing a lack of fixed, regular & adequate nighttime residence and living in emergency or family shelters, and some transitional housing;
- unsheltered or in inappropriate / inadequate shelter such as a car, tent, abandoned building, self-paying motel; or
- sharing housing due to loss of housing, economic hardship or similar reason.
Your financial gift to this fund helps provide basic resources such as school supplies, hygiene items, laundry soap, shoes, winter gear and socks, all items that can be a daily barrier to school attendance, engagement, and achievement. TEP ensures children have equal access to the same free public education as other children and youth to succeed in school and their community.
