Transition Education Program Fund
MMSD’s Transition Education Services Program serves students and their families who are experiencing homelessness as defined by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act:
- children and youths who are sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of housing, economic hardship; are living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, cars, public spaces, abandoned buildings, camp grounds, bus or train stations due to the lack of alternative adequate accommodations; are living in emergency or transitional shelters; or are abandoned in hospitals.
Your financial gift to this fund is used to reduce barriers to school enrollment, attendance, engagement, and achievement so these children have equal access to the same free public education as other children and youth to succeed in school and their community.
