Sherman Middle School

Sherman Middle School is a diverse, fully inclusive learning community where we’re dedicated to educating the whole child. Our school is not a typical junior high or middle school. Our staff work in collaboration with our students, each other, and our families to ensure our young adolescents leave our school as confident and successful learners.

Welcome to Sherman Middle

Creating confident and successful learners.

We value positive relationships as central to building and maintaining a safe learning environment. We hold high expectations, both academically and behaviorally, for all students. We support every student in achieving his or her potential and preparing for future opportunities and active citizenship.

What Makes Sherman Middle Unique

We’re dedicated to supporting our students throughout their academic day and beyond.

  • Our unique team model ensures that every Sherman student is placed on a team of teachers who rotate between instruction and support for the core subject of English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. This facilitates the integration of curriculum and allows teachers to offers individual and group attention to all.
  • Chef in the Classroom offered through REAP Farm to School program.
  • Shared campus with Shabazz City High School offers additional learning opportunities.
  • Annual SOARS Conference (Support Others and Act Responsibly and Safely) provides a day-of learning for the entire student body, with presentations from local experts and high school performers.
