Why Attend?

The Partners for Progress Breakfast is more than an event—it’s a movement to expand educational opportunities for every student and strengthen partnerships across our community. Together, we can shape a brighter future for Madison.

A Look Back at the 2024 Partners for Progress

Last year’s Partners for Progress Breakfast reflected on Madison’s growth and MMSD’s central role in preparing students for a thriving future. With Madison projected to welcome 115,000 new residents by 2050, Superintendent Dr. Joe Gothard reminded us:

“Understanding each student as an individual with goals, dreams, and aspirations—that’s our purpose.”

Guests were inspired by student voices, including Aiden Browning, a La Follette sophomore performer, and Aisha Jabang, a La Follette senior and STEM student at Madison College. Their stories illustrated the promise and potential within MMSD, showing how the district opens doors to college, careers, and lifelong success.

In addition, last year’s event celebrated the legacy of the Madison Public Schools Foundation, which has secured more than $38 million in resources for local schools over nearly 25 years and continues to lead on policy and funding advocacy.

As Aisha closed the morning, she issued a call to action:

“I invite you to stand with MMSD students like me to help support my future and my sibling’s futures as well as their education system.”

The community responded with pride, optimism, and commitment—setting the stage for this year’s breakfast at Vel Phillips Memorial High School.

2024-25 Impact Report: Teacher Support Network

For five years, the Teacher Support Network has been a vital lifeline for Madison schools — delivering more than $1.25 million in supplies, snacks, clothing, and support directly to classrooms. In 2024–25 alone, thanks to generous community and corporate partners like Lands’ End and EZ Office Products, the Network provided over $324,000 in resources that help teachers focus on teaching and students on learning.
